It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we have learned Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Special Agent Lee Tartt, 44, was killed in the line of duty this morning in Tishomingo County.
Agent Tartt was a 22-year law enforcement veteran and had served the MBN for more than 15 years. He was the 2011 MBN Agent of the Year and received the H. Lane Caldwell Award of Valor in 2012.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
This campaign has been started by Badges Supporting Fallen Officers' Families ("Fallen"), a non-profit charitable organization created by current and former police officers to provide immediate financial support to the survivors of our law enforcement heroes killed in the line of duty.
