A good cause in Costa Rica

This is my new friend Kathy. She is Costa Rican. She works at the small cabina rental place that my partner and I have been running for the last month in Costa Rica. She is 21 and has a 4 year old daughter, and she is going through a divorce.
I can see in her eyes that she is a happy, positive thinking person, but life has slapped her down lately, and she is quite often very sad when she comes to work here.
Costa Rica is not a cheap country to live in, and the wages here are very low. Kathy makes the equivalent of $3 per hour, which is actually more than others make in neighbouring hotels. But with the price of gas, internet, electricity and many groceries being comparable prices to Canada, I can’t even imagine how many people are able to even get by down here.
We learned recently in her divorce that the Dad had to provide her with a vehicle in the separation so that she could get her daughter around easily. However when she showed up to work on her bike the other day, I asked her why and she said she had no money for gasoline.
I feel like she really needs a boost. Even this amount of money is not a huge amount to us in North America, but I think that it will go along way in helping her to start out fresh without her husband and his steady income.
Mostly I hope that it will bring a smile to her beautiful face!
If you are able to even give $5 or maybe $10, it will help this young lady, who seems to have started out her life with such difficulty, get a leg up in the world.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
With Gratitude,
Jill
