Help Herbert's house!

Donation protected
One of SouthEast bakersfield's senior citizens is being forced out of his home after County Code Compliance stated the house was uninhabitable. Herbert Jackson has lived in his home for over 60 years. Along with his house, he leaves behind a lifetime of memories, including raising seven kids and losing his wife. Now he is facing the possibility of being homeless. "This is a nightmare, I have nowhere to go," said Jackson. In 2008, a fire destroyed his electrical system, since then Herbert, The 85-year-old, has been living in the home without electricity. However, recently the water was turned off. Code Compliance received a complaint and started the legal proceedings to deem the house uninhabitable, so as these County Code Compliance workers began boarding up the house, some of Herberts friends and family helped remove what belongings they could from his house. When deputies arrived to notify Herbert that he had to leave, he told them he had nowhere to go. So now this fundraiser is asking for help from the community to help keep Herbert in his house. This man deserves to live out the rest of his life in the home he started it in. The home that is rightfully his. Wouldn't you want to do the same? Anything helps, if you can't donate money how about a small portion of your time and a little effort? Or even just your support! Every little bit is appreciated and helps the cause! Remember to spread the word, and the compassion.
