Zoe was a Hurricane Katrina survivor. We found her and her brother abandoned not too long after the storm, and took them in.
We litterally had to bottle feed her and her brother becuase they were so little. Consequently, she's always been a little quirky, probably becuase people raised her from such an early age.
About a month and a half ago, she had a bad episode / illness that struck her forcing us to take her into the emergency vet. She was diagnosed with renial failure, then it was reassessed to be pancreatitis. Treatment there lasted a while, and over the last month we've had to continue treating her with our local vet.
Right now, there is real hope that she can get better and continue her happy life. We're not interested in prolonging her life unnaturally, and want to do what is right for her.
That's why we just can't bear the thought of "pulling the plug" simply for financial reasons. That's the purpose of this GoFundMe - just looking for any support to lessen the major financial impact this has had.
