My friend Watson the cat has developed severe kidney problems and is staying at the animal hospital. His treatment and stay are expected to be pretty expensive, so I’m trying to raise some money for him (and any donations in any amount are gratefully accepted).

To help him out, I’m doing $60 mini-bust commissions, just like the ones I did recently at Boston Comic Con (you can see examples  http://jfsculpts.com and below). Any character you’d like in any style you’d like.

Here’s how it works

Contact me here, email me at jfsculptsemail01 (at) gmail.com, or tweet me @jfsculpts and let me know character/style you would like
Once I’ve contacted you to confirm, donate $60 to Watson’s GoFundMe page

Send me your shipping info (U.S. only at this time) and in 1-3 weeks  you will receive your sculpture

Watson and I thank you!

Watson is doing well, but still not back to normal. He's eating, not quite enough, but he's eating and drinking more or less regularly. And the little boy-king now like to be spoon-fed. Oy.

Commissions are going well. The first round will be rolling out this week, and I'll start posting photos when people have received their sculptures. I'll be doing a second round of sculpture commissions beginning later this month.

Meanwhile, here are some pics of the recuperating patient showing off his end-of-summer shaved belly and stylish Uggs.

Thank you all once again.

So soft, that belly.
So stylish.

WATSON IS HOME!

A lot skinnier, with some shaved patches, but he's home.

Watson's not entirely well yet, and he still needs a lot of care, but he's home and on the upswing.

Watson's vet bills were higher than the highest estimates, so I will probably be taking some more commissions in a week or so when I'm done with this round.

Thanks once again to each of you who commissioned work, donated, spread the word, or otherwise helped our little orange buddy.
Watson got a new bed for his troubles.

The good news is Watson may be home this weekend!

The bad news: in addition to the kidney problems, he has mild heart disease and the fluids they've been pumping into him to fight the kidney disease have exacerbated that, and there's fluid around his heart. So now they're doing an x-ray to see if there's fluid in his lungs, which is apparently entirely treatable if they find it. For the moment they’ve stopped the regular infusion of fluids.

Watson’s kidney numbers are still high (new reading tomorrow) and he's still not eating enough, though at least he IS eating. He still has the feeding tube in; you can see it in his nose in the photos.
More updates tomorrow! Thanks everyone.

Hello all,

Watson is still at the vet, but his condition seems to be improving, if more slowly than we'd like. He's been eating food, which is a huge improvement. His spirits are good, and he's charming the entire veterinary staff, all of whom have commented on how friendly he is.

Although he looks a little grumpy here, he was actually pretty happy.

Thank you all once again for your support.

Determined to be handsome no matter what
