Help Santa Rebuild

Donation protected
After sea ice melts at the North Pole, what happens to Santa and Ms. Claus, his reindeer, the toy workshop, Christmas Village—Christmas? For certain, Santa will become the world’s best-known victim of climate change and dislocation.

The “Help Santa Rebuild” campaign shifts the traditional Christmas story to a new paradigm through the pages of a pioneering novel, “After the Ice Melts,” an environmental comedy—maybe the first. The humorous tale and environmental awareness tool place climate deniers squarely on the thin ice of their making.

With your help, after this project succeeds, the new Christmas meme will be an environmental one: Save Santa—Save Earth!

“After the Ice Melts” – an Environmental Comedy

When the sea ice at the North Pole melts and Santa Claus turns up missing, an amusing team of climate scientists, including a talking dog and a soggy elf, battle greedy corporatists and an evil robot as they search the globe to find Santa and save Christmas.

A new Christmas story with an amazing cast of characters. Santa’s witty go-to elf, Soggy, becomes a star in this book, and with a villain named Mr. Pollutey, you know the read will be fun. It’s kind of like the Scooby-Doo gang meet up with Soggy and find themselves in the Land of Oz.

A fun book with a serious message that’s sure to drive wingnuts crazy, especially if they have kids. It’s pastime to reverse the horrific impacts of climate change. Santa Claus knows who’s naughty, and he knows who’s nice. Better watch out, polluters!

“After the Ice Melts” – the Motivation

The world is on fire but alarms are ignored in Washington! The reality of climate change is exacerbated by the actions and inaction of millions of science-denying knuckle-draggers that roam Earth and rule the capitals of America. But why does saving the planet have to be political? That’s a question I ask myself often.

“After the Ice Melts” is a rational response to the politics of our very real climate crisis—importantly, one that puts Santa Claus in the spotlight to ensure the consequences resonate with everyone. And with Santa as the first iconic victim of climate change, after his home and toy workshop tumble into the ice-less summer sea, the whole world might act to reverse the trend—even regressive Americans.

Mission: Connect the Need for Environmental Protection to Santa

The “Help Santa Rebuild” campaign is all about environmental awareness. “After the Ice Melts” is a perfect tool. The short novel originated as a script for animation and the comical tale would make an awesome stage play.

You can help supplant tradition with a new Christmas archetype, one that promotes environmental awareness everywhere Santa is seen or imagined.

The Author

About the Author – Edward Draper is a writer-producer-creator as well as a veteran Washington analyst with a love for art, science, history, social justice and discovery of the unknown. All are elements that blend nicely into methodically-plotted creative works, possibly best described as modern-day rationalized fantasies.

Environmental Comedy – Draper authored “After the Ice Melts,” to shift the legendary story of Christmas to a new paradigm with a simple message. Climate change and dislocation are real and Santa Claus is the world’s best-known victim. In the book, a fun cast of characters, including Soggy Elf and a talking dog, circle the globe to find Santa and save Christmas Village—and maybe humanity. It’s hilarious!

Draper authored “Breaking Truth” with an equally daunting purpose—to save democracy! And “Breaking Truth is the little book that could. Newbie is the fresh face among a gaggle of elite Washington journalists. With his unique perspective and their mentoring and support, much is revealed about the failures of American media and the larger struggle to cover an unconventional president backed by extremist factions. But what happens when a military parade with live ammo rumbles past the White House? Maximum political satire.

The Dream – Take it to the Next Level

Thinking ahead, my dream beyond saving Earth, humans, animals . . . is for campaign fundraising to exceed expectations by a magnitude so large that it attracts national—even global attention. This is a scalable project—additional funds will be well spent to advance progressive interests.

Call to Action

Together, we can change the world for the better—at least get it started. When people associate Santa’s predicament with the need for action on climate change, then everywhere people see Santa, they will think of protecting the environment.

If you enjoy working on creative projects, please help where you can—donate if you can—and let’s meet on social media: http://www.77006.com (blog: A Creative Meeting Place), Twitter @WashingtonUG,  http://www.Facebook.com/SaveSantaSaveEarth and http://www.Facebook.com/dotcomism .

Thank You

I cannot thank you enough for the support and understanding.

Without the benefit of Gofundme donor gifts, it is harder to express gratitude on the platform. As I learn more, I’ll share what is allowable and maybe find a way to provide signed books and cover art (thinking metallic prints) and host VIP events. Meanwhile, I’ll use the host network to post my social contact information and look forward to hearing from you.

Let’s take it to the next level!

Thanks,
Edward Draper
