Help poor Oglala Sioux with heat

Donation protected
Funds are urgently needed to help low income members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe pay winter heating bills.

This funding effort is being coordinated by the Four Seasons Farmers & Artisans Market in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

When we heard about this need, In January, 2018 we collected a truck load of blankets and coats which we delivered to the Pine Ridge Reservation.   They were immediately distributed to needy tribe members.

At the Oglala Sioux Tribal Office, the Vice President of the Tribe showed us a file that listed pages and pages of requests by poor tribe members for help paying for propane, electricity and even fire wood to get through the winter.

Today, we received a call from a Tribe member who is a grandmother who was caring for two infant grand children, and whose electricity had been turned off.  She was seeking any kind of help she could get to pay her bill that had grown to several hundred dollars.  We verified her membership in the tribe and immediatly created this funding effort to help her and as many others as we can.

Your donation is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
