Help Jonathan Jump Higher

  Jonathan (pictured in pink and teal) transferred here to St. Louis to seek a fresh start and get a degree in college that will allow him to help young people. I met him as a volunteer tutor for a general education class he started for his degree. Jonathan lost his job and didn't understand why in 2012. He became homeless and had to drop out of college. I was devastated because I knew not long after meeting Jon that he had great potential and could help many youth in the future. I could not bear to see the failures in our system not able to help this struggling young adult, thereby potentially entrapping him in missing his opportunity to shine.

  Jonathan does not have a father nor mother or family able to help him get back on his feet. He was surfing from place to place for half a year before I was able to provide him a home place and the immediate privileges he needed. I enabled him to find his place in the job force and get back into college. From 2014 to now he is getting A's and B's in college and is working with kids in daycare/afterschool programing looking forward to teaching and caring for youth once he completes his degree.

  Unfortunately this process of getting back on his feet has caused debts in the amounts of $3500.00. Jonathan still struggles with bills like any other college student, but he is figuring it out independently. I rounded the goal up to 4K. I am starting this GoFundMe campaign to help Jonathan to clear his debts before they entrap him, further disabling his fair success in life. Rounding up he will have a bit of scholarship to offset the student loans to help him with his books for the next couple years of college he has left.
