Mike 'Hoot' Gibson's House Repairs

Donation protected
In 1971, nearly fifty years ago, Michael "Hoot" Gibson started his career as the equipment manager of Benjamin Bosse High School. In the time since, Hoot has epitomized service. He has given practically every waking moment to ensuring coaches and students are taken care of. It is dizzying to think of the number of athletic events that have taken place in his near-fifty years at the school, but even more dizzying is the fact that he has missed just ONE football game and a handful of basketball games in that time. He's stuck with Bosse through the good times and the bad, whether those times refer to the school's or his own. His service is unwavering and completely selfless, and he does so despite the hardships he endures on a daily basis. At this very moment there is likely rain dripping through his leaky roof and mold forming on his tarnished floors. Unfortunately, the problems don't end with his home. His truck is on its last leg and has a number of issues that need repairing. Through the years, the money he makes as Bosse's equipment manager simply isn't enough to cover all of these things that need to be fixed. Has he ever let this lack of funds or external problems affect him at work, though? Not in the slightest. At any given moment you can find Hoot with a smile on his face, laughing and joking with students and faculty. Any Bosse alumni of the last fifty years will tell you first-hand that Hoot is an amazing person, as his dedication is unforgettable. With all that he has done for Bosse and the community alike, he deserves something to truly smile about. We are raising money, first and foremost, to repair the issues with his home. Nobody should have to live in such conditions, especially someone who sacrifices as much as Hoot. If we are able to acquire the funds needed to do these repairs, any and all additional money will go towards fixing his car. Our ultimate goal is to raise $4,000, and every last cent is greatly appreciated. We hope to raise this by the end of February. This is ambitious, but Hoot deserves nothing but the best as soon as possibile. Thank you so much for helping us help Hoot, who has done so much for us all.
