Help for Amanda who is fighting Leukemia

My name is Lisa Woodward, and I am the very proud Aunt to my godson and nephew Nathan Angell (my sister Robin's son) and his wife Amanda.  Nathan’s beautiful wife Amanda was diagnosed in January 2014 with CML Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. At that time, she was given Chemo meds for 6 months and went into remission in June 2014.  Her numbers were normal for 2-1/2 years while on cancer meds to keep her white blood cell count down.

AMANDA'S STORY:
On April 9, 2017, she started to experience bone and joint pain again.  Nathan took Amanda to the hospital with chest pains and shortness of breath.  While being diagnosed with an infected gallbladder (which needs to be removed), they saw that her white blood cell count was extremely high again.  Her CML had mutated into “Blast Crisis” (90% of her white blood cells are immature).

Amanda was then transported to the University of Chicago where she is currently in the Stem Cell Transplant wing and is receiving aggressive chemo treatment (orally, via IV and spinal).  After chemo, she will need a stem cell transplant.  They are currently looking for a match donor and are testing her immediately family.  Her doctor is Dr. Larson and he has been wonderful to Amanda.  She is expected to be in the hospital for 2 months and will be out of work for at least 8 months.
OUR AMANDA:
Amanda is the most selfless, compassionate, hard working person you will ever meet.  She’s a CNA and many of her residents request her because she is so sweet, caring and attentive.  She loves to cook, has a great sense of humor and is very artistic.  Nathan and her three dogs are her life.  Nathan, Zero, Oliver and Rogue need her home!

A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN!
Nathan and Amanda met online in 2009 and first met each other in person in Ohio where Amanda lived in March 2012.  It was LOVE at first online chat!  They are true soul mates like I have never seen before.  They were married on September 3, 2016 and bought their first house in December 2016.

With all of these efforts to get Amanda well and home, comes a huge financial burden that no family should have to worry about while desperately trying to save a life.  Nathan and Amanda have enough to deal with, so any financial assistance would be greatly appreciated. This would help take some of the worry and stress away so they can focus on getting Amanda the proper care and medical needs necessary to bring her home. We are grateful for any donations and if you are not able to donate please continue to pray for them.

HOW YOU CAN HELP....
Please consider donating to this page to help cover Amanda’s medical expenses, mortgage payments and whatever else she'll need to beat this.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
