Help Jones Family "Team Jones"

There is a hero among us. His name is Shane Jones. 


Shane has repeatedly dedicated his life to serving and protecting others, whether it was through peace-keeping efforts in Rwanda, or being among the first deployments from the National Microbiology Laboratory, Level 4 lab, to investigate and help control the Ebola outbreak in Africa. His global response efforts, his dedication to helping others learn and grow, literally connected people together from all around the world. Shane has always gone forward to assist others without question and most importantly with honour. Even if that would mean leaving his young family behind to contribute his skill, knowledge and compassion during global duress.


Now, Shane and his family require the assistance that he so often gave throughout his life.

In January of 2016, Shane was given the diagnosis of synovial sarcoma. This form of cancer is one of the rarest forms, incurable to date, and the prognosis shattered the young family he and his wife Luci created.

For the past two years, Shane has been battling his illness like the true hero he is - living each moment for his wife and two children, keeping strong and teaching everyone around him about resilience and grace with every step of his journey.


His two boys, so warm-hearted and generous, so lively with humour and kindness, are a direct reflection of their Father's strength and integrity, and of their Mother's hope and guidance.


But now, Shane's fight is coming to a close. He has given all he can for those he loves, and his transition from this life to the next draws near. This amazing husband, father, son, brother and friend - who always put others before himself, will leave behind a young family.
And they will need our help.


This campaign is arranged by close family and friends in Winnipeg, Manitoba to assist Shane, Luci and their boys, long affectionately called "TeamJones", with any expenses impending, including services to honour Shane's life, as well as to help provide for their children.

Our hope is to help honour Shane, to honour the love he shared with his family by trying to ease any financial burden forthcoming. The upcoming weeks/months will be very trying for Luci and the boys, and we want them to be able to focus on each other, on their love and remembering Shane, without the additional financial stress this unimaginable situation can bring. 

Any remaining funds will go directly to be held in trust for Shane's greatest loves: his two boys.
