Help rebuild Bhimsen School Nepal

The Umbrella Foundation Australia is a small Australian charity who support vulnerable women, children & their communities in Nepal.  We also support vulnerable children in Australia through our Newcastle NSW sister charity, Centre For Hope.

We are very much in need of your help in our latest project, the rebuilding of Shree Bhimsen Secondary School.  The school is situated in the village of Khatrithok in the district of Sindhupalchok, Nepal. The Sindhupalchok district was one of the worst affected in the Nepal 2015 earthquakes.

Situated 72km's from Kathmandu the community is extremely vulnerable especially since the earthquake with many remaining  homeless.   The Umbrella Foundation Australia are seeking support to help us with the rebuild of the school.  This school educates 252 students, employs 16 teachers and supports 4 communities all within a 2 hour walk.

One of the wonderful features of this project is, the school community are contributing 20% of the costs. With most of this being labour it demonstrates the committment from the parents and community leaders and the importance they give to their children's education. 

Our plans are  to establish an Australian School friendship program.  This will  give Aussie and Nepali kids the opportunity to communicate and share their culture.....firstly we have to build the school. 

We are all volunteers with 100% of all funds raised going to the project.  We are planning to acknowledge our donors on a thank you wall at the school.  These funds are needed urgently for continuance of the project.  To date The Umbrella Foundation Australia has funded the rebuild with donations received from Australian schools after the 2015 earthquake.
