Help Panitan Philippines Rebuild

Hello. My Name is Nicole Daliva. As many of you know on November 7, Typhoon Haiyan, the largest Typhoon ever recorded to make landfall struck the islands of the Philippines. In particular the central islands of the Philippines known as the Visayas region. The damage done is catastrophic, Millions of people have lost their homes, agricultural land used for their livelihood, and thousands have lost their lives. There is little or no shelter, electricity, food, clothing, or medical care available and aid is slow to come. And most unfortunately over the next few weeks, maybe months, it is estimated that thousands more will loose their lives due to these conditions.

My Husband Geri was born and raised in a small town called Panitan on the central Filipino island Panay. Many of his family members still live in Panitan including his father, step-mother, uncles, aunts, and cousins. It is now estimated that 95% of their island has been devastated by typhoon Haiyan. Geri's father and step-mother's home has been destroyed, most of their belongings have been taken by the storm, and basic necessities are scarce, especially food. All of our family there have suffered a similar fate. And his beloved home town is in a state of calamity.


I am here today to ask for your help and support in raising money to help our family and the people of Panitan. The funds raised will be used to get basic necessities to them and to help rebuild damaged homes. I also ask that you pray for our family members in the the weeks to come and for all the people in the Philippines that have suffered the wrath of this storm.
