HELP MOE GRADUATE!
Hello Internet Chum!
Thank you for taking the time to gander upon my digital appeal for financial aid! Way to go You!
I am a senior Graphic Design student at the Art Institute of Seattle. I have spent the last four years completely saturating myself in everything design...and everything caffeinated, sleeping little and studying a LOT, as I grow ever closer to acquiring that grand piece of paper declaring my graduation with a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design.
Frustratingly, I find myself (mid spring quarter), unable to pay for my last two quarters of school, and staring wantonly into the drained pool of financial aid, pondering my future options. "I could apply for a personal loan...wait, I already have one of those and am currently paying it off. I could request more hours at work or get a second nursing job...but then I won't have time for homework, and much of my spare time is spent helping to care for Eli, [my disabled brother]. GAH! I'm just going to have to win the Lottery!"
Then, a dear friend of mine, clever man that he is, suggested I hop on this site and see if I can convince you fine people to help a girl out, which would be extremely generous of you.
One class at my school is $1,500. That's ONE class! Each quarter, for a full-time student such as myself, is 4 to 5 classes. So, by the end of it, I'm looking at a quarterly tuition charge of $6,000, and $12,000 needed to finish. That's $12,000 extra I don't have. After I pay my bills each month, I'm lucky to have any spare amount to put towards the purchase of an extra pack of Ramen noodles. (Don't judge, with some mixed vegetables and an egg, that stuff is pretty darn good!)
I plan to do a lot with my last two quarters of school. I am currently working on my thesis, which explores the advantages and affordances of simplification standards in User Interface design, as a response to advancments in digital technology. I intend to examine the possibilities of creating a set of unified design standards for UI design, in the hopes of meeting the unique needs of individual populations (illiterate, cognitively impared, physically disabled . . .), as applied to digital interfaces for education, medicine, and consumer uses.
My senior project will take what I have learned through my thesis, and apply my findings towards developing universally usable interfaces for patient-used medical devices. I hope to encourage and influence the future of medical UI design, to be accessible and usable by all patients.
So, dear internet Chum, having previously spent the last hour staring my financial adviser in the face and begging her to let me learn for free, here I am asking for your kind help. Any amount of support, big or small, won't go unappreciated, and absolutely every penny will go into my educational bank account. If you can spot me, just this once, I thank you. Eternally!
For those that donate $20 or less, I bequeath to you an mp3 of the title track off my 2nd album, "Woe Is Me". It's a good one!
To those who donate $50, I will happily send you a beautifully composed song of gratitude! Complete with ukulele, claps, and oodles of harmonies.
Any who donate $100, will receive not one, not two, but all three of my albums. These are my babies, so treat them well.
AND, for anyone amazing enough to donate $1,000 or more, have I got a treat for you! Along with receiving all three of my albums Winston himself, of the Seattle based music venue Winston's Lair, will personally deliver to you a dozen delicious cupcakes and a special personalized thank you video. SERIOUSLY! I have had the immense pleasure of performing at Winston's Lair, and it remains one of the most spectacular experiences of my life.
:D The below links will connect you to my personal portfolio site as well as my online music profile. A million thanks unto you!

My last day of school...(woohoo!)...is December 19th. I can't believe I managed to do it with how much other stuff I've had on my plate, but your support has been a great help. I'm so close, but financially I still have a lot to pay the school for tuition. My last payment to the school (required to graduate) is about $3,500. I'm so close! We can do it team.
Please and thank you!
December 19th will be my last day, and then I get to present my portfolio and senior project to the public at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. Then....I GET A JOB! AAAAAH! (I can't wait)
I have 5 classes this final quarter, and could really use a little extra help in paying for them. One class is $1,500. I have $2,105 to put towards this final quarter (thank you kind donors). That's almost two classes paid for. I get to take the classes regardless, however I won't be able to officially graduate until they are paid for.
You have all been amazing in helping me thus far, and I am so grateful.
Your hard working student,
