Help Hayden to walk

Donation protected

Hi everyone, I want to raise £25,000 for my son to have a life changing operation.
Hayden has Cerebral Palsy Spastic Diplegia (affecting symmetrical limbs). He got diagnosed aged 1 and a half.
Cerebral Palsy is brain damage to the brain from pregnancy or shortly after birth, we haven't been able to find out what caused this to Hayden but his consultant has said it's probably through pregnancy.
Hayden has mild CP, it mainly affects his legs, the brain send too much muscel tone to his legs which makes his bottom half too stiff to move this is why physio is needed to help loosen them. Hayden is now 5 and finds it very hard to walk (unaided) cause of the stiffness, it makes him walk scissored instead of straight. He has walking frames to use and he's mainly in a wheel chair, he's currently unable to walk by himself he needs constant support from a walking frame.
Since his diagnosis he's had physiotherapy to help build muscel tone which will enable him to walk.
a few years ago his physiothearpist decided it's time for intervention so she booked him to have Botox, a few year later and he's still not showing any signs go improvement.
Hayden gets so frustrated watching all his friends run about, climbing on climbing frames, riding a bike etc. He doesn't understand why he can't do things that his peers can do. It breaks my heart to see him like this, this is why I'm asking for people to help raise money for this amazing operation.
The operation is called Seletive Dorsal Rhizotomy, it's a pretty basic operation, all they do is open up the very bottom of his spine, they use this machine to determine which damaged nerves are sending the stiff messages to his legs and they chop it off leaving the good nerves intact, which in time with plenty of physiotherapy he will end up walking a lot sooner, it's not just walking that will improve his learning will aswell (Hayden is a year behind in learning).
Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy was government funded but they had to stop it as it was costing the NHS too much money, so this is why I'm trying to fundraise.
Hayden is such a happy little boy always got a massive smile on his face, so it upsets me when he gets upset about the things he can't do, but I can't explain why to him as he doesn't have the understanding as other children of his age do.
So I ask everyone that is reading this to help us please, it's such a worthy cause, your helping a little boy that so deserves to have the best in life and to do everything mainstream children do! To walk and have a better future :)
Thank you x
