Now that I'm finally finishing up those pesky final projects for my degree, I am looking at getting back in the trenches of activism and have an amazing opportunity to explore in the DC area.
After a couple phone interviews with the Nuclear Information Resource Service who is looking for an Associate Director, I've been asked to go out to meet with face-to-face with the staff for a final interview next week! I only have one obstacle between me and that interview - the funds to get there. Between the federal cuts in financial aid and Connor's medical issues, the last couple years have not been kind financially; so I'm asking my network of mentors, colleagues, and friends to help out with the expenses.
Any assistance you're able to give financially and help with getting the word out to other people is much appreciated! I've created this online donation page to make it easy for people to chip in, even if finding time to meet is difficult.
This is such an exciting opportunity with the possibility of going back to one of the causes I "got my feet wet with" back in the late '80's with an amazing organization providing activists worldwide with much needed information and direction on issues concerning nuclear energy, radioactive waste, radiation and sustainable energy!
My goal is an optimal scenario and any additional funds toward my wish list or beyond will allow some additional networking opportunities with some of the amazing progressive organizations in the area!...and who knows I might just be looking to publish and present on the whole experience.
Every dollar helps. Parts of the dream trip are listed - but if you know me, I can make a dollar stretch and do it on a little less.
