Raspberry Ridge New Heating System

Donation protected
If you saw their "Love It or List It" episode on television, then you know that Marty and Shannan Stam participated in a renovation of the farm house at Raspberry Ridge--the location of a much loved summer string and Bible camp hosted by Marty's grandmother, Jane Stam Miner, for 23 years. The young Stams assumed ownership of the property after Jane's passing as a guarantee that camp would continue in the nurturing, recreational setting so unique to Raspberry Ridge. They moved in shortly before the 24th camp session.

Unbeknownst to this newlywed couple, the house needed more than just a cosmetic update.  Significant structural issues ended up consuming most of the renovation monies. While the resulting work is very beautiful, most of the funds were used to reinforce the floor downstairs.

Now the Stams are faced with their HVAC system having failed. Shannan and 7 month old Penelope Jane are at home during the day with no heat downstairs. (Currently, the upstairs heat is working). This past summer, the air conditioning crashed.  Considering the unit is 30 years old and has endured numerous repair attempts, the only solution is to replace the entire system, including wiring and duct work. Bringing a new system to current housing code requirements makes the cost around  $20,000.

We are compelled to come to the Body of Believers to meet this need. While home improvements usually are not deemed critical enough for a fundraising campaign, this situation is different. Countless people of all ages have benefited from the hospitality of Jane, Chip and Doris, Raspberry Ridge, and the entire Stam family over many years. We think you would desire knowing about this opportunity to bring a blessing to them.

Please pray with us for God to supply their need. This gift is not tax deductible. However, we would like to give back to Raspberry Ridge in light of all the fond memories we have with our children as campers. We hope you will join us. Any amount will help, and if monies are collected above the needs for the HVAC, they will be used for future improvement needs benefiting the string camp. We are accepting donations via their Go Fund Me site. https://www.gofundme.com/HeatRaspberryRidge

Thank you for your generosity, and hopefully, the heat will soon be on! Please feel free to share this story with others you think would be interested.
