Help Dominic Get a New Heart!

Many of you have heard me talk about my best friend Tiffany and her amazing family and some of you know them very well.  They are such a great family who I love dearly and have been through their share of stresses.  Dominic (the husband and dad) was first diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy in March of 2005, almost 10 years ago. They have two beautiful children Vanessa age 8, and Dominic age 4.   He has had a long road since his diagnosis trying to stay healthy with multiple surgeries and hospitalizations.  In September of this year he was officially listed on the Heart Transplant list at Colombia Medical Center which is located about two hours from their home in New York.  He has been on a Milrinone drip through a Picc line that sends medicine directly to his heart since being listed.  This medicine can only be used for a year and then he will have to be placed on a LVAD (left Ventricular Assist Device) till he gets a new heart.  We are truly hoping he can get his new heart prior to needing the LVAD.

So due to all of these factors the family has recently made a huge sacrifice.  Dominic boarded a plane at the beginning of February and headed to California to get listed at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.  This list is shorter and they complete more transplants annually increasing Dominic's odd's of getting a new heart.  This means Tiffany is at home alone with the two children while working herself to help save children's lives who suffer from heart conditions.  Financially any of us could understand what this would mean having to house and feed your family on two separate sides of the country.  Not to mention Dominic's medications can top over $800 a month!!! Tiffany is going to have to take off work and fly back and forth to continue to support her children and her husband.  She will never admit it but the burden of all of this stress both emotionally and financially is hard for even her to shoulder.  I am setting up this Go Fund me account to see if we can lessen the load on this amazing family.  I want Dominic and Tiffany to make it to their 10 year wedding anniversary and many more.  I want to see Dominic dance with his daughter at her wedding and see his kids grow up.  Any little bit you can give will help this family stay strong and support each other in such a trying time while they wait for their dad's new heart and after to help with all of the medical bills.
