Harding Scholar Athlete Fund

It is the goal of the Harding Scholar Athlete Fund to help students develop a connection to their school through athletics. By building this connection we are looking to improve participation rates, graduation rates and college acceptance percentages.
Harding Athletics have long been a source of pride within the Bridgeport community, unfortunately many of the current student athletes do not feel that same sense of pride because they lack many of the things that their opponents take for granted. For instance, our student athletes do not receive T-Shirts, this may seem insignificant, but T-Shirts create a sense of pride for our students within the school and the community.
Harding Athletics is also looking to provide rewards for our student athletes. We have been holding seasonal athletic banquets, but our funds for these events are quickly dwindling down to nothing. This past fall we honored each team and provided trophies for team MVP, Most Improved and a Coaches Award. In addition we recognized Scholar Athletes and the Fall Team with the highest GPA.
Athletics can serve as a bridge for students to achieve their life and career goals, we understand that not every student will earn a college scholarship, but the life lessons that athletics teach will help many of our students reach those goals.
