Habitat For Humanity

Hi Everyone,

I am of the opinion that we all have things that we complain about when it comes to the world that we live in. I am guilty of this myself, but I've decided this: 1) I really don't have much to complain about when bombs are dropping, people are starving and some people in this world don't know where their next meal is coming from. 2) I have no right to complain until I'm prepared to make some changes to the world myself and I want to back up what I say with my actions.

Being an avid Hockey fan and player my whole life, the NHL and the NHLPA's greed represents, to me, what is portrayed as being important in today's society by today's standards.

I have a group of people that are organizing a home build through Habitat For Humanity in Costa Rica where we have to either pay for or raise funds for each individual to go.  My goal is $2600 for my portion, but any additional funds that are raised will be dispersed evenly amongst my team to help minimize their costs. This total includes helping to pay for materials for the build, accommodations, transport, food and airfare. The people that are going with me have jobs, families, school and other responsibilities and we are still making the time. Any one of you that has ever said to yourself "I've always wanted to do that, but I just can't make the time." That's fine.....I understand, but if you mean it, then here is your opportunity to do your part.

All I'm asking for is for anyone who has paid for over priced Hockey tickets to support the NHL and it's players who are already rich, or bought an overpriced jersey, please consider helping me and my TEAM make a difference.  I also ask that even if you do not donate, please share my request on your facebook. Donating is very easy and effortless and I appreciate your consideration. This is actually all I want for Christmas this year.
