Help those affected by TBI

Donation protected
On October 24, 2015 Bryce was involved in a single car roll-over accident where he acquired a Severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).  Against all odds and everything the professionals could predict he not only survived but continues to thrive.

Bryce is nothing short of a miracle and even the professionals can’t define why he is still here!

Medically speaking we are now at a place where those professionals say "let's wait and see what happens the next few years".  But as hard a fight as Bryce has fought we find that to be an unacceptable path.  So we have researched and sought out cutting edge, nontraditional therapies and believe that we have found something that Bryce deserves.  Of course it is not covered by insurance!

There are 20 + years of positive results in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).  And we have found a Doctor in Colorado that has a patented protocol with HBOT and Stem Cell Therapies along with nutritional and supplement regimes.  It is EXPENSIVE but we believe it will be worth it.  To put it in layman terms the Doctor believes that although many of Bryce’s brain cells died because of the trauma from the accident many more of his cells are simply dormant.  Not dead but just to traumatized to function.  The protocol allows for suppling oxygen and nutrients to those cells so that they can be revitalized.  This is something that would naturally happen over the next few years and is exactly why sometimes people in comas unexpectedly wake up years later.  The brain cells that were dormant finally heal to the point where they can function again.  HBOT is already approved for 14 different diagnosis for improving healing times and TBI will hopefully be added to that list from the FDA in the next year or so.  But again we refuse to be in a wait and see situation for Bryce.

Outside of the cost one of our problems is that access to HBOT on a daily basis would mean a daily 3 hour drive one way or trying to stay in a hotel a week at a time.  The TBI Therapy protocol calls for a minimum of 40 HBOT treatments initially and that would span over a 10 week window.  That overstimulation for Bryce in traveling would be counter productive and I honestly just don’t know if I have the strength and perseverance to be Bryce’s only caregiver for that window of time in a hotel environment.

An alternative would be to have a hyperbaric chamber in our home.  This would at least provide some daily therapy and would minimize the need to travel/hotels until Bryce was ready for different parts of the protocol.

The TBI Therapy Protocol is about $15,000 and the Hyperbaric Chamber is about $11,000.

Thank you in advance for your continued support and generosity.  We could not have made it this far without you and we are humble to stand before you today and ask for help again.

Be a part of Bryce’s journey and please donate to help us provide this cutting edge therapy that he needs to improve!
