The HOUSE of HOPE was founded in 1978 primarily as a non-alcoholic recovery home to serve and meet the needs of the community. Since then it has evolved into a number of Room & Board sober living friendly transitional facilities.
Our mission is to serve the community by housing chronically homeless adults in a safe ‘Home-style’ environment. We have helped numerous individuals regain their confidence and assist them in their recovery, so that they may return to society as ‘Valued Producers’, despite their history.
We currently house 132 clients, providing them with a bed, shower, 3 nutritious meals per day, cable in every room and a telephone to make and receive calls we provide these amenities for the modest fee of $450.00 a month. We are by far the most inexpensive program in Los Angeles.
We are a non-profit organization that successfully functions strictly with the help of our community. Though we receive donations from our local food banks and furniture centers providing comfortable living in our 3 homes located in the greater Los Angeles area tends to become strenuously over-whelming. To our best ability we provide the basics for as many men and women as we can. The demand for living is much higher than what we can truly provide. We can only hope to begin to expand our program and open are doors to women and children with the help of this fundraiser.
