HELP HAITI CAMPAIGN
Replenish ~ Repair ~ Restore
Her Many Voices Foundation (HMVF) is a Boulder, Colorado, USA based nonprofit. The "Her" makes reference to Mother Earth and the "Many Voices," all of her children. Comprised of artists, activists and global community members, we operate from the belief, "whatever I do for another, I do for myself. " We strive to ignite the artivist (Artist/Activist) in us all to move our passions to purpose, for the betterment of women, children and our Mother Earth.

Haiti and Hurrican Matthew
Before Hurricane Matthew reached the United States, it caused widespread devastation in Haiti, killing over 1,000 people.
CBC News video on Haiti
The region of Trou ChouChou, where HMVF has been working since 2010, was not spared. Matthew cut right through it, killing all of their livestock and completely destroying all makeshift homes, 67 solid homes and 6 other structures. The primary school we founded had its roof ripped off and all of the toilets crushed. All of their water systems and tanks, crops and trees were completely devasted, leaving the village without clean water, food or shelter and the collapse of the Petite Goave bridge cut off the main road linking Port-au-Prince to Trou ChouChou.
HMVF has strong ties to this community. The primary school that we started with Help Hayti , St Alfonse de Cadet, has 185 students enrolled.
We also assisted the development of six women's organizations and businesses, which partner with us.
Since 2010 we've provided business training on tourism, animal husbandry, agriculture and sustainability, effecting the lives of 4,600 people. All programs were designed to be self-sustaining, and until Matthew they were on track and succeeding.
100 miles east of Jeremie, Haiti, where all the media attention has been focused, Trou ChouChou is a remote village that was forgotten after the 2010 earthquake and is being neglected now. It is vital for us to get clean water and food to this community immediately, as reports of dysentery are pouring though. With the threat of cholera looming, we must be ahead of the game.
HMVF is partnered with Help Hayti and community leaders of Trou ChouChou. We also have a team of volunteers supporting our efforts.
Our immediate goals for this request are to:
1. utilize our on-ground organizational and community partners to survey the immediate needs in order to provide a prioritized response to the urgency.
2. provide $25,000 toward urgent relief of food, clean water and shelter.
3. during the first phase of our response we will complete a needs assessment of the needs for the restoration of all devastated projects.
4. repair and restore the infrastructure, including: water systems, gardens, crops, soil, buildings and livestock.
5. continue our on-ground follow-up and support of the overall process. Our US team will be in Haiti in December.
