HBMS Greenhouse

Hollis Brookline Middle School is building a greenhouse! We have spent a year planning, visiting other schools' greenhouses, and researching the full educational potential of a greenhouse.
We believe that a greenhouse will enrich and enhance our middle school curriculum. We also believe it will teach valuable skills such as focus, patience, cooperation, perseverance, social skills, and responsibility.
Other benefits to the school garden are that it naturally addresses different learning styles and intelligences. It adds movement and activity to their day which provides for better attention and behavior. Gardens are shown to improve student attendance.
Our greenhouse will provide HBMS with a renewed sense of community. We are ready and motivated to raise money for this exciting endeavor!
