Our goal for this film is to bring awareness to Childhood Apraxia of Speech in a way that we have not seen at this point, by helping children that are being overlooked, untreated and those that are unknown. We want to help children suffering and shine a light on all the families out there that are doing their best to provide their children suffering with CAS a normal life.
The funds for this project are designated to help us create the best film possible. It will allow us to work with some of the worlds leading experts in the field. It will also allow us to show the impact of Childhood Apraxia of speech on the families it affects. We want to bring these amazing stories and amazing people to the screen and bring you a real look at CAS like no one has ever seen.
We would like to begin shooting as soon as possible, we are anticipating that we will need 16 months to complete the project. So the sooner we get started the better!
This project is very near to my heart. I have 3 children, Two of which have been diagnosed with CAS. We have struggled with it as a family for the past 6 years. It’s a very difficult process and very stressful trying to help your child communicate when it’s so hard for them to speak.
Being able to make this film will be a huge step for all those children out there struggling, who may not be getting treatment. By showing those parents this film they will know that there is help out there. If we can help one family, even one child, this film will be a sucess. However we know that by completing this film, it will be a huge step in the right direction for treatment and awareness for CAS. By sharing these stories with the world. We hope to bring more awareness and understanding to a disorder that is often overlooked or misdiagnosed.
