Medical Relief for Peter Manzo

This is a fund created for Peter Manzo and his family in an attempt to relieve some of the finanical strain they are now facing. So many friends and family of Peter have gathered and prayed for his recovery, and now it's time for us to give back to such a great man. Below you'll find a little imformation about what you're giving for, and how it will help this family now in need.
On the morning of March 23, 2016 Peter Manzo; a loving father, husband, son, grandfather, friend and co-worker collapsed at his home and was rushed to Midstate Medical Center. There, they found both his lungs were filled with massive pulmonary embolisms (huge blood clots). Some had moved to the passageways of his heart, preventing it from pumping blood. Peter was fully intubated in order to breathe, and was immediately Life Starred to Hartford Hospital. Midstate was not equipped to handle his extremely critical condition. Teams from Hartford Hospital’s pulmonary, neurological, and cardiac departments met him at the helicopter, and immediately began working to save Peter's life. The embolisms caused his heart to become extremely strained from trying to pump with so much blockage. As a result, his oxygenation levels dropped extremely low for a large portion of time. This of course, is cause for concern for brain damage. The following day the family was informed that the “clot busting” medication which saved his life, caused a blood clot to enter his brain. That resulted in a slow bleeding stroke. Peter has recently been moved from the ICU to a “step down” unit within the ICU, where he is making incredible strides every day. However, he has a very long road ahead of him. Nothing will be the same, yet his family is there with him every step of the way.
Peter is the backbone of his entire family. A veteran of the Airforce, he has worked hard his entire life, and has devoted himself to caring for others. Now it's our turn to help karma reach Peter.
Peter's co-workers at Trader Joe’s describe him as warm, patient, funny, and extremely dedicated. One co-worker spoke of a time his car was in the shop. For weeks Peter picked him up at 3AM to bring him to work no matter “rain, sleet or snow”. All of his co-workers love his sense of humor, and extensive knowledge of music. Peter is constantly singing while he works, and in doing so, creates such a happy and fun-loving environment.
Peter’s wife is unable to work because of a rare form of muscular dystrophy. This makes the financial burden of Peter's medical expenses all the more severe. The bills will no doubt be overwhelming; therefore, this page is an attempt to help with his family's struggle. No matter the size of donation, Peter’s family will be extremely and eternally grateful for the help and support. Please know that if you give, it will be to help a sensational person. Peter lights up the world, and is the foundation of his entire family.
