Many of you know the incredible man by the name of Chris Skinner. He has been my inspiration since I was just six years old. The very first time I met him, I went with my mom to bring him dinner. He met us with a huge smile and asked me to come closer to his wheelchair, as he had something for me. I reached inside and helped him pull out a stuffed hippo with a Radford University T-shirt on. That little hippo, to this day, has served as my inspiration to keep going, even when times get tough.

At a very young age, Mr. Chris totally changed my life. I knew then that I wanted to help people just like him! It has been amazing watching him grow as a person, dealing with the hardships he faces, while still managing to inspire others to never give up. Through his trials and tribulations, he has remained so positive, and has impacted so many lives in countless ways.

He has touched all of our lives, now we all have the opportunity to give back! Mr. Chris was given the opportunity to try out a standing wheelchair for two weeks, which is a blessing, but he truly needs it for a lifetime! Through this page and your donation, we can make this a reality for the Skinner Family. According to Mr. Chris himself, “It’s truly a life changer!” This standing wheelchair provides so many benefits. Some of which include: putting weight on bones to prevent osteoporosis, helping the digestive system, preventing UTIs, increasing blood circulation, helping appetite, and increasing emotional and mental health. It is amazing that a chair can have such an impact on someone, but this chair would truly make a world of difference and make life much easier for Mr. Chris and his entire family!
