Get Traci Mobile Again

Theresa (Traci) Brutto Riddlehoover was recently in a terrible car accident. On the morning of December 4, 2018, while on her way to work, she lost control of her car. Traci was rushed to the local hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery to align the broken bones in her neck and repair other soft tissue injuries. While the surgery was successful, the accident had already caused a C5 - C6 spinal cord injury, and she is now paralyzed from the waist down.
Traci’s family and friends all know how active and full of life she is. She has a contagious free spirit and is someone who always looks on the bright side of any situation. She is someone who you would be proud to call your daughter, sister, mother, or friend. Since her accident she has displayed amazing strength and is working very hard with her medical team of doctors and therapists.
She has use of her arms, but not her hands and is not able to walk. Unfortunately, Traci’s doctors are not sure if she will ever regain use of her hands or be able to walk again. She is currently in a rehabilitation hospital that specializes in spinal cord injuries. Much of this treatment and rehab that she needs is not fully covered by her insurance.
Her family is asking for donations to help with her medical expenses so that she can continue these advanced therapies. We are hopeful that with continuing specialized rehab and therapies, she will regain as much function as possible. When she is able to finally come home she will need to have her house modified to be wheelchair accessible, she will also need a vehicle that is wheelchair compatible.
Traci’s family are all on this challenging journey with her. Her sister, Michelle Ruether, has been set up to manage the campaign funds.
She will need every ounce of support, both near and far, as she literally tries to get back on her feet.

Traci is proud daughter of Rosemary Brutto and the late Sergeant Louis Brutto where he served for 21 years at the Brevard County Sheriff’s Dept. She has been employed by Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr. HS at Brevard County Schools for the past 18 years.
