General Sun needs our support!

While he needs no introduction, Damon Honeycutt, a.k.a General Sun has been a great inspiration to the Sabering community worldwide. An expert martial artist and dancer, Damon created some of the first Jedi training forms including the seminal Shii-cho Form. His generous teaching and creativity helped spark the Sabering movement in its earliest days.



Most know that Damon’s Shii-Cho routine is the most commonly practiced “dulon” routine in sabering today. But he had only shared that little bit with the world. Damon left the sabering community to pursue his careers goals and was never able to finish his project.

Now Damon is negotiating the various worlds of martial arts, contemporary music, dance and yoga as a new father and family man. He needs our help not only to support his young family, but to get more of his incredibly deep, rewarding and fun sabering material out there!

The good General now wants to bring his Form V lightsaber form to life and offer to the new generations of Saberites. . We at TPLA have agree to help him make this dream a reality. We also want to take the opportunity to help someone who has given so much to our community.

We are looking to raise this money primarily to help a fellow saber instructor and his family.  Donations will go directly to Damon and the production of the materials (Videos etc.). 

We’ll be getting together with Damon in the New Year to start filming his current work. TPLA will record and produce all of Damon’s material for everyone to enjoy and learn from. Our plan is to come together  April 25th trough 28th to shoot his new material and to come together for the first real live TPLA Seven Forms Symposium! We will have full panel and be able to discuss sabering topics at length together in one place.

We’ll be making our exchanges with the good General available online of course. All Saberites kind enough to be able to donate to our campaign will be able to access special footage and instruction.  In addition, we have incentives for those who want to contribute at higher levels: 

$10 or more: Call out “thanks”/mention during a TPLA video

$30  Participation in a TPLA live show

$40  Access to behind the scenes, live feeds, and exclusive content during the Symposium Weekend. Participation in the live broadcast of the Symposium. 

$45 One hour small group lesson by video chat, taught by an Official TPLA instructor or instructors. 

$50 Individual lesson (1 hour, by an available Council member)

$100 an hour long, in person, private lesson at one of our official TPLA schools in the US or France. 


Your donations will go directly to helping Damon support his family and bring his new material to life! Overhead cost will include a venue and production costs incurred in the production of the video material for everyone to enjoy.  

Over the years, the Star Wars Fan community has pulled together for it's members countless times. Now, one of our own, who has given so much to our hobby/sport/activity is in need of our help.
