Gracie's Amputation Fund

Donation protected
Gracie arrived at Goats of Yamnuska almost 2 weeks ago after being saved at a livestock auction. When we first saw Gracie it was clear she had a significantly injured back leg which is why we chose to save her!

Once we brought Gracie to the vet it was determined that she had a significant injury to her knee and needed to be X-rayed to figure out our options. Upon reviewing the X-rays as well as a thorough physical exam while she was under sedation, it was discovered that her knee injury was beyond repair. Her injuries look to be fairly old, and also very very painful (note all the swelling on her x-ray below).

After consulting with our local vet, a specialist orthopeadic vet, and a specialist HUMAN orthopedic surgeon, all three doctors agreed that the best course of action to give Gracie the best life would be to amputate her left leg.

We have scheduled Gracie's leg amputation for Wednesday, February 15th. However, we are looking for some help to help cover Gracie's veterinary costs.

This little girl has suffered so much in her short life and deserves to have a happy and pain free life of getting to run and play with all the other goats at the sanctuary. She is still very shy, but is slowly showing more and more interest and curiousity in us humans. She is slowly learning that humans do in fact care about her and aren't going to harm her.

So if you are able to donate towards Gracie's surgery, we would so very much appreciate it! Any small bit helps and it would mean the absolute world to Gracie.

Thank you!
