GLOBAL YOUTH GROOVE Kenya exchange program

Ten volunteer students from the Boston area schools Berklee College of music, Newton North High school and Needham high school  are traveling to Kenya this summer June 24th for 21 days to teach music to at risk youth in rural Kenya. These youth have not had an opportunity to explore their music abilities due to lack of music instruments and instruction. Global Youth Groove is seeking funds to acquire the instruments that will be used for teaching during their stay in Kenya. The instruments will be donated to a community center, where the Kenyan youth can continue to develop their music skills. This experience will promote cultural awareness and positively transform the lives of both the American and Kenyan students.
This is is GYG\'s inaugural trip and hopefully we will make this an annual event. We are also receiving music instruments and accessories and music production gear. The money will go directly into purchase and shipping of the instruments to Kenya.
