Your contributions are essential to allowing us to deliver needed dental screenings, preventive treatment and education to underserved public school students in NYC! ALL donations will make a difference.
Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) is an annual volunteer initiative on the part of the dental community to provide free educational, preventive and restorative services to children in underserved areas throught the U. S.
The New York County Dental Society (NYCDS) ran an extremely successful event in February 2017 and we plan to have an even larger event in 2018...with your help! We will once again be present at three sites in Manhattan in East Harlem, West Harlem, and the Lower East Side. Screenings, oral hygiene instructions, and healthy eating will be reviewed with over 1,300 primary school children utilizing movies, crafts, puppets, in a festive atmosphere.
This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved and help students learn about dental health.
This year the event will be held on February 2, 2018. As an ever-growing event, we look forward to treating more children and providing flouride treatment (for the first time!). Parent workshops are another important aspect. It is all done in a fun environment for the children. This event is extremely special to NYCDS and the NYC community. Our goal is to continue to grow and reach more underserved NYC public school students. The only way we can do this is by raising funds to help defer the costs involved in treating and educating these children. Please help us by donating to this wonderful cause!
