The Virginia Children's Book Festival needs your help! In 2015, the Virginia Children's Book Festival received hundreds of letters from children thanking us for making the VCBF so exciting and FREE! Please help us keep the VCBF free for more than 6,000 children this October. Small or large, your donation makes a difference for Virginia's children.
The third annual Virginia Children’s Book Festival takes place on October 13-15, 2016 at Longwood University and brings together prominent children’s authors and illustrators and the general public and is available without an entrance fee. Don't miss Drew Daywalt (The Day the Crayons Quit), and Jeffrey Brown (The Jedi Academy) this year!
Your donation will help us fund our literacy programs for Virginia's most marginalized children in the Southside region. Southside is the poorest region in the state, and 64% of the children in the region are not reading at grade level by 3rd grade. Please know that any amount that you can donate, big or small, will allow our programs to remain free to those that attend. Three donations of $50 is enough to bring programs from organizations like the Edgar Allan Poe Museum to the VCBF. Your donation is a direct investment in the lives of Virginia's children.
