THE FILM

Chance follows a homeless man, Chance, after he reunites with an old high school friend, Manny. After finding Chance on the streets of Anchorage, Manny decides to help Chance get his life back together and pursue his dream of being an actor. Despite Manny’s help, Chance has a hard time changing some of his old habits.

As a film, Chance deals heavily with the issues of alcoholism and homelessness. These issues are present in Anchorage, and Alaska as a whole. We at BIZZAY hope that this film will have a positive effect on the community around us. In order to help foster change, BIZZAY will be donating a percentage of all money raised to the Anchorage homeless shelter Brother Francis.

Pre-production started in September 2016, and production will take place from January 7 - 14, 2017, in Anchorage, Alaska. Reshoots will take place in February and March 2017, while post-production is going on. The film will be released in July or August 2017, depending on when BIZZAY can arrange a deal with a local Anchorage theatre. Following a successful premiere, BIZZAY will work with a distribution company to get the film on Netflix or Hulu.

THE COST

Members of BIZZAY have already invested nearly $500 in the project, and the costs will rise as we enter the production phase. Currently, the main cost we have is for our talent: excluding our 2 male leads, the actors will cost $500. If needed, and audio specialist will range between $250 and $1000, and a B-cam will cost a similar amount.

Renting a theatre will cost anywhere between $500 and $1500, depending upon the date and theatre that we choose to go to. If we charge for tickets, the premiere will come close to paying for itself.

The final area that money will go towards is the fees charged by distribution services to get the film judged. For an indie film, we expect that the fees will be about $1000.

WHO ARE WE?
BIZZAY is a local Alaskan film group. Initally started as a means to pass the time between lifelong friends Arslan Malik and Zayn Roohi, it has blossomed into a real, thriving business. Our last project, the 25-minute film Rogue Money premiered to an audience of almost 200 people in downtown Anchorage.
