Mother w/Cancer and Dying son Need Apt together

My grown son is dying and I have cancer. My son has requested Assisted Suicide not sure when that will happen, a year or less perhaps. I have been diagnosed with cancer and must have surgery in march. Living in the Bay Area I cannot afford a little apt or In-Law unit. My son lives in one place in a room rental and I live a couple of towns down in a room rental. I should be with my son and he should be with me at 'The End of All Things'...

I need to be able to cook, clean, and care for him... no parent should have to lose their only child. And no child no matter what age  should spend their last year alone. We need each other so much. I need to hold my son and talk to him and soak in every last moment. how he looks, how he sounds, how he moves, what he says. I need to be there and watch him sleep and help him walk and hold his hand and keep him company.

I can never get this time back to spend with my son. Due to my circumstances  I just can't  get us together.  I have a full time job working for a major airline, but I am still considered low income. Living in the bay area is a must, as my sons specialists for his neurodegenerative disease are based at UCSF.  And my doctors for my cancer are also here in the San Francisco bay area.

My goal, my hope is to afford rent for a one bedroom or an In-Law on the Peninsula or in San Francisco. I cannot afford a car so I must stay in this area. If someone knew of something available for a year I would be happy to hear of it.

My son and I have an expiration date we cannot run away from.  I am looking for help from the public... I am grateful that there are those who give and care. At this time sadly I have to look to others for help..   So...
