Cleaning fees - Free clothes for the homeless!

Donation protected

While filming a post-apocalyptic short film, one of the locations we used was an abandoned flea market. There were tons and tons of perfectly good clothing strewn about, in boxes, in bags, etc. I was talking with a co-worker about how the clothes should be donated to those who are in need.

I decided to take the idea and make it happen. Originally I thought it would be quick and there couldn't be that much there, so I could sort it, get it cleaned, and get it donated. A small group of us put in a combined 20+ volunteer hours to sort, bag, weigh,  and tag it all! Well... turns out in the end there was an estimated 1,101 pounds of clothing!!! A local cleaning service has offered to pick up for free, but with SO much clothing paired with my being out of work for most of the year with a brain injury, I'm reaching out to the community to help fund the cleaning process.

You don't need to donate for me, but donate for all those that will receive the clothing. It's especially important as winter sets in. I will be finding 'direct donation' places that give the clothing away to those in need for FREE. There will be no middle man, no reselling for profit, direct donation only. I am hand picking the locations that clothing will be distributed to.

Let's spread some love! Thank you for your help!
