The Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation formed by a dedicated band of volunteers, including long-serving curator Ray Revill, to ensure the future of the sanctuary and its inhabitants.
We are located in the Heritage City of Maryborough, Queensland, a 3 hour drive north of Brisbane and a short 30 minute drive to Hervey Bay, the whale watching capital of Queensland and the gateway to spectacular Fraser Island.
The sanctuary provides a haven for Australian native animals and birds in a natural environment.
The floods of 2012 and 2013 caused extensive damage to the fencing at the Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary, and some enclosures still need to be built or repaired. We are currently trying to raise funds to construct and maintain several enclosures within the Sanctuary, but we can't do this without your support as the Sanctuary receives no direct government funding and simply relies on volunteers, corporate sponsorships, general sales and indirectly from government employment and training programmes.
