Following Bruce (And My Dreams)
1. following my dreams
2. creating photos and writing pieces
3. making a beautiful website
4. inspiring others to follow their dreams, too
I've started my website ( www.umabode.com) (and also www.followingbruce.com). This site goes well beyond the 3 week Bruce Adventure. But it's all starting with that. Following Bruce is the kickoff for the rest of my life.
My plans include getting a GoPro camera and video blogging, as well as regular written blog posts and photo galleries. I'm going to interview people I meet on the road and at/around shows. I'm finding places to stay through airbnb and word of mouth (know anyone with space for me in Nashville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, New Orleans or Houston?). I'm buying tickets as I go. Hoping to get on the floor/GA for every show.
I am planning to work as much as I can for my job while on the road. I've saved a fair amount of money to pay for the trip, but tickets and the GoPro are pretty expensive! I thought I'd open up a GoFundMe and let others help support me if inspired. I'm excited to offer all kinds of special perks, like postcards from every city and print photos from my trip.
Please take a look at the "rewards levels" and help out if you can. Yay for everyone who donates. You will ALL get postcards from the road and my unending ginormous gratitude.
Meantime, hope you are checking the blog. Www.followingbruce.com
Show #4 tonight! Atlanta. Woohoo!!!
I've seen 2 shows so far, and I've decided to definitely go to the Florida shows. Meeting so many people and having all kinds of incredible synchronicities. Bruce has been truly awe-inspiring. Hard to explain his energy and the -- well, I'd have to say, it's love that radiates out of him.
Also, I'm working. Today and the next two days are work days in Raleigh...it's great to have this opportunity to work and play at the same time.
I'm so grateful for your support, whatever it looks like. If you can donate a bit, every little bit helps. If not, no worries and know I still feel the love!
thank you thank you thank you!

I'm not sure that the first Go Fund Me announcement of this campaign was sent in an easy-to-read format. Given that, I'd like to just summarize why you are getting this email:
I leave this Monday April 14th on a 3-week odyssey through the South, following Bruce Springsteen's tour and exploring new lands and people.
I am blogging about the adventure and hope to meet many fellow Bruce fans along the way. Already the word is getting out and it's very exciting to have people from as far away as Israel contacting me and wanting to connect.
You can follow my blog at www.followingbruce.com (or www.umabode.com). You can also support my adventure by donating to this campaign.
Monies will go toward lodging, food, gas and of course TICKETS TO THE SHOWS! I also am secretly hoping that I raise enough funds to buy the camera upgrade of my dreams, the new Canon 70D. That, however, might be a bit of pie in the sky. We will see...
A note on lodging: I'm doing this on the cheap partly by using www.airbnb.com and renting rooms in people's houses. I'm just amazed at the bookings I've scored, including a week in NEW ORLEANS in a home just blocks from the Jazz Fest grounds for $65/night! I have AlWAYS wanted to explore New Orleans and I think this is going to be an amazing time!
I will be visiting the following cities (in this order) and would love any ideas or advice any of you have on things to do and see in or on the way to these places:
New Orleans, LA
From Houston, I drive out to my beloved California for 3+ weeks of work and friends and at least a few days in Santa Cruz. The 4th annual Peace Walk in San Quentin Prison is the 25th and then I head home that following week.
I am grateful to the Mystery for the amazing life I'm offered, with opportunities for adventures like this, while still working to support myself in a very fulfilling job.
Thank you all for reading this far, if you made it. To those who have or will donate, a special shout out of gratitude.
See you on the road...
I'm finding the most outrageously perfect places to stay. Great prices and really awesome hosts. Mostly I'm getting airbnb rooms in houses. It's gonna be quite an adventure just staying in these different homes.
I also realized that the gopro isn't me, really. I'm hoping to get a major upgrade to my camera kit. Somehow, it's going to happen.
Well, my friends...from late at night I'm writing, the world is quiet around me...and all that's left to say is this--
No matter what, listen to your heart. Tune in. Follow that whisper.
I'm so grateful that I finally am.
With warmth and appreciation for all your support, whatever it looks like.
