FLIPtheDistricts: Canvass Fund
Donation protected
We had great success with our canvassing efforts in support of the Get Out the Vote Project and we know that this strategy works! In order to flip the 102nd State Assembly District and the 19th Congressional District in November, we must continue.
• We are making our canvass even more personal and friendly. We are purchasing printed materials for each town, writing our own script, and making this a truly neighbor-to-neighbor outreach.
• We have access to the voter database through the State Dems! This means that we will be able to maintain our own records and cut anyone turfs who would like one. This is huge. Many hoops were jumped through to make this happen. Much thanks to Cliff Hays of the Schoharie County Democrats for making this happen!
• We need to contact 3,000 voters: This number comes from Aidan O'Connor's campaign. These are the voters who are reasonably likely to vote but need encouragement. In order to flip the districts, they must vote on November 6th.
• We need $2,500.00 to make this all happen:
Sticky Notes for the 5 towns: $375
Sticky Notes for Final Weekend Canvassing Push: $375
'Hate Has No Home Here' yard signs: $500
'Hate Has No Home Here' car decals: $200
Maintaining the Rural Awakening Website: $200
Food for canvassers: $400
• We have events planned: On Thursday September 20, we will have a meeting with representatives from the state democratic party at Green Wolf. We will hold canvasses throughout the months of September and October, and then a final push the weekend before the elections. If everyone who canvassed once will canvass twice, we can get this done, especially as our lists will be tidier, with less empty houses.
• We know what needs to be done: It will take people to knock on doors. It will take money. We can’t do it unless there is at least a handful of people who are excited to make it happen. Can we count on your help?
