FeLT NYC: Friends Engaging and Learning Together in NYC

Team FeLT are delighted to announce the changes to our organization since we last met!

* We are now 501(c)3 which means that you can declare a donation on your tax return.  It also means that if your company has a matching scheme, it would apply to us!

*We are partnering with an amazing Elementary school in East Harlem, they have a large immigrant population, and Team FeLT will be providing a range of classes to the parents!  (This means that we have quadrupled in size)

*We are creating a whole stream of online content, so that any student who wants to learn just needs a computer, be it at home, or at the Public Library.

*We have achieved ALL of this with amazing support and volunteers.  Team FeLT ALL volunteer their time and knowledge and this means that we can, and have, and always will, keep the classes 100% FREE

Summer is not over yet, but it is time to focus on back to school, and for many of our students, it is a time of stress and financial worries.

This fall, FeLT will be hosting classes in 3 NY locations, as well as working with a small group of Dreamers and some survivors of torture.

It is an exciting expansion, but we could use a hand, can you make sure that #NoMamasLeftBehind ? FeLT is a nonprofit run entirely by volunteers, so we are asking you to donate, or share this campaign and raise the roof to help immigrants and refugees break the generational poverty cycle, but helping them improve their education. #BackToSchoolMama

A Heart FeLT Thank You!

One year ago, we embarked on an amazing, uplifting journey into the unknown. What a year it has been! Last weekend, FeLT held our first graduation with 52 students from 12 different countries (immigrant women, refugees, and DACA recipients). This was only made possible by your donations, support, and kindness!

We are so proud of our students and we are so grateful to you for supporting them. Together, we can promote a safe and caring educational experience for immigrant women and refugees. Thanks to you, we raised $5000 which allowed us to serve 52 students and keep their education cost to $0. We believe that by investing in their futures, we are representing the ethos of NYC.

Our classes are on break for the summer, but we are not resting! This summer we will be launching Heart FeLT Stories - a Podcast dedicated to giving immigrants and refugees a voice. We will also be uploading some amazing online content for students to access anywhere.

In September, our classes will launch again, but this time in 3 locations.... East Harlem (thank you, PS200), Midtown (thank you, Rennert) and Brooklyn (thank you, PS295)

Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more updates, and please continue to support and donate.
