Stefanie Mullikin Goldens Breast Cancer Journey

Donation protected
As some of you know Stef found a lump, she named it April.  On April Fools Day she confirmed her fear that it was cancer.  She will now begin her journey to kick April's booty!

After testing positive for the BRCA1 cancer gene in August she decided to have a Hysterectomy due to the possibility of ovarian cancer later down the road.  Her mother has twice dealt with and beat this same type of cancer!

Stef has four beautiful young daughters and a husband currently deployed.  Being a military family she has lots of friends and supporters but could use a little extra help during her journey to kick April's booty!

It was not her idea to start raising money but as her friend and a voice for all her friends it is a way for some of us to help her get through this with as much ease as possible.  Hotels, gas, traveling (treatment center is almost 2 hours away), childcare, WIGS (lots of wigs)!  There is no dollar amount you can put on this type of situation! We want her to focus on getting better and not worry about anything else!

Please don't feel obligated to donate, she doesn't want us all giving her a pity party, but if you can help it would be greatly appreciated!

We love you Stefanie!

Friends take care of Friends, you worry about your front while we have your back <3

***UPDATE***
Stefanie had an MRI and found out that her mass is under 5cm but that there are also 3 lymph nodes involved.  She decided to start the Red Cross notification to get her husband home from his deployment.  On Friday 4/12 she had biopsies taken from the lymph nodes and will get the results next week.  The doctor thinks that the tumor is roughly a stage 2a or 2b depending  if the lymph nodes are cancerous.  They graded the tumor as a grade 3 meaning it's the most aggressive of the grades and on the 18th she will get a port placed for chemo.  Chemo will start on the 22nd and the first dose will be every 2 weeks @ 4 cycles for a total of 8 weeks and then a second round being once a week for 12 weeks totaling 20 weeks of chemo all together.  She will then get a double mastectomy after 1 month of rest after the chemo.  IF the lymph nodes are involved she will need 6 weeks of 5 day a week radiation before breast reconstruction.

Stay strong Stefanie!

***Update***
April 17, 2019

Well, Stefanie found out today that the cancer has spread to the lymphatic system.  That means radiation. Sucky news but she is ready to fight this fight.  Things are moving so fast and things are starting to get rough. The travel alone to Seattle is going to be very difficult in regards to childcare and extra expenses.  Please continue to pray hard! She got her new port this week and chemo starts soon.  If you haven’t  donated and you can afford any amount please do.
