Fremont Family Fire Recovery

Donation protected
On Friday, a local apartment complex caught on fire.  Many families were only able to get out with the clothes on their backs, while the sprinklers drenched their apartments as a response to the fire.  The building was condemned, and all residents will now have to look for somewhere to live.  6 current FHS students and 4 incoming freshmen were impacted by this tragic event.

The apartment owner is paying for hotels for residents through Sunday, and Red Cross provided debit cards for cash and groceries, to get them through this week as well.  But after that, the families are on their own.

The search for somewhere to live will be very difficult in this area, as rents are outrageous.  Our hope in this fundraising campaign is to help with costs of food while their home base is shifting, and they may be without a kitchen.  Hopefully we can get them set up in a hotel for a short bit while they look for somewhere else to live, too.  All of the basics of home (laundry, cooking, places to study/do homework) are unavailable.

We also are accepting gift cards for local eateries for these families.  Those can be given to April Perez.

Thanks in advance for anything you can contribute.
