We are so excited to tell you about the new journey that we are starting! God blessed us with a precious baby girl a year ago. Lila has changed our lives forever! We are so thankful for her and we love being parents. In the midst of caring for Lila, our hearts have been burdened for the many babies who don't have a mommy and daddy to care for them. We began to pray and consider the possbility of pursuing adoption. We are thrilled to announce that we are officially starting the adoption process! We looking forward to Lila becoming a big sister. We are beyond excited to see what the Lord has in store for our family! While we know that challenges lie ahead, we are trusting God to lead and protect us. We would love your prayers during this process! Please pray that God would give us wisdom and discernment for the many decisions that we will face. We would also like to invite you to give towards our adoption. If you are in a place to give financially, we would be honored for you to be a part of this process in that way.
Thanks for taking the time to read this update! We will keep you posted as we move forward!

So far, we have done quite a bit of research and we have chosen an adoption agency that we feel comfortable with. Right now, we are working on the initial application. We are also saving money and starting to work on our Adoptive Family Profile that will be shown to birth parents, as they make their decision regarding adoption. In January, we will send the application, financial agreement and payment for the home study to our chosen agency.
Next, we will meet with a social worker to complete our home study (typically, one visit in the family home and one visit at the agency's office).
Then, as part of the Home study process, our agency will connect us to online training to prepare us to become adoptive parents.
While we are completing the training, we will continue to gather all our home study documents, as well as,
finish making our Adoptive Family Profile.
Once our profile is submitted ... we wait and pray :) According to God's timing, we will be matched with a birthparent and wait for baby to be born.
Placement of the baby occurs after the birthparent(s) have signed the surrender agreement, usually at 72 hours after birth. Our agency holds custody until we go to court at six months to finalize our adoption. At this point our baby is officially a part of our family!!!
Thanks so much for your continued prayers and support!!!
