Back in February I recieved an email that would change the outcome of my year significantly. I was invited to apply to be part of The Extreme Tour, a movement that has been around for the last 22 years bringing hope and life to communities through song and extreme sports all over the world. I applied and hoped for the best and was later invited to Nashville in May for an event called The Objective.
At The Objective I met so many amazing musicians from all over the world and all walks of life. We had such an amazing experience learning more about this tour, getting to know eachoter, learning from industry professionals and taking our music to the streets to love on people. No strings attached, just bringing smiles and the songs. By the end of my weekend in Nashville I knew this was something I had to do.
GUESS WHAT?! The beuatiful thing is I GET TO! From August 22- September 28, I will be joining The Extreme tour through the US. We will be going to communities in the south east and I will be singing and performing poetry along with some other amazing artists. I can not tell you have excited I am to be able to do this!
I CAN'T DO IT ALONE
The Extreme Tour puts on all it's concerts all around the world for free. They don't charge their host communities and only ask for a floor or couch to sleep on and a few meals. That means that all the artists involved have to be able to be responsible for their expenses while they're on the road. Gas, food, equipment, and paying the bills back home is dependent on every individual artists saving, planning and fundraising.
This is where I need YOU!
Would you guys help me bring my art to the highways and byways of the american east? It would mean so much to have you as part of my journey. Every little bit whether 1$ or 1000$ helps and you will not on;y allow me to go well, you will be investing in lives of hundreds of young people who will get to experience fun, music, laughter and hope. I have seen first hand here in Ottawa, and in Nashville what happens when events like this come to communities who would not normally be invested in.
I still remember the look on one of my little neighbours face last year when he looked out his door and saw a bouncy castle in the park across from his house. I will get to be part of that moment for someone every 2 or 3 days for a month and a half!! What a privilege and blessing.
THE NEED
I am raising $6000, IT will go towards helping with flights in and out of the US, gas, any miscellaneous expense that could come up on the road, food, phone bills and it will also help me continue to make sure my mom is still taken care of back home. If we surpass the goal, it will enable me to bring some merch out on the road with me and potentially help out others who are embarking on this journey.
