Dear All,
My name is Laroeun, I'm the father of Evengella (Gella). Gella was born on Jan 28, 2019 at Virginia Hospital. As soon as her birth, she was not breathing and all her body was purple, so immediately all doctors came to the room to preformed an emergency. However, after 4 hours, she has to rush to transfer to Children Hospital in Washington DC due to she has heart and lung issue. For her first four days at Children Hospital, she has had a twice chest surgery, neck surgery to insert tube for ECMO, and some other small cut which I don't know the term. However, she is a fighter, she has been strong and hanging around for the past two months. She currently still in the hospital due to lung infection or her lung is too small and slow to grow. Her heart is getting better but her lung is still need oxygen to support her breath. The most frustration part is she could stay in the hospital another 2-3 months but doctors could not give us any time line.
As you now understand little more about Gella conditions, we as the parents are went through so many challenges. The mother have not gone to work for the past 4 months and everyday she need to travel and spend time at the hospital all day to be with Gella. Normally my wife and I are home around 12 am or 1am because I get off from my second job at 9pm and spend about an hours to see Gella and return home with the mom. We commute from VA to DC everyday and spend all the weekend in the HP.
Now, we ask the public to help and support us in every way you can because we have been trying so hard for the past months and we will continued in every way we can to do so. The fund is going to mostly use for her medical bills, doctors bills, and many other issue with her long term medical issue. We currently facing with so many large bills from both Hospital and my Kaiser insurance doesn't cover much. This support is really mean a lot us and family because we want to see her grow and come home with the family even we have little hope that she may come home any time soon.
First of all, I greatly appreciate to all my family for the support in every way they possibly could to take care three of us. Also I want to thank you in advance for any support and understanding. My wife and I will greatly grateful for all the help to bring my little princess home. Please, please pray for our family that have to go through all these very tough time that no one want to experience with, especially Gella's mother.
