Micro Tiny Home Pilot Project

This Micro Tiny Home project helps the homeless people in our communities, sets a positive example as well as encourages our global transition toward minimalism and sustainability. I am trying to raise money to build as many of these as possible for the homeless people in my community. Additional donations will go towards hiring help to build and transport these units, advertising the project through print media and mass media internationally.

I took careful consideration in deciding the size and design of the structure for a multitude of reasons. The current models were redesigned with only plywood as an exoskeleton to reduce the amount of lumber needed, lower the environmental impact, reduce unit cost, and expedite the assembling time. These units are built from sustainable sources Forest Stewardship Council [FSC] certified lumber and recycled scrap wood. The front door opens vertically [assisted with hydraulic struts] to protect the entrance from rain and has the ability to lock. I use non-toxic insulation that consists of a composition of compressed recycled material. The entire structure is sealed for waterproofing, painted with a fire retardant primer with a NASA [invented] insulated paint additive and then painted vibrant silver. I also incorporate a triangular tinted window, air vent, cast iron wheels on the bottom and solar panel on the roof!!! http://microtinyhome.com

UNIT #1. was for a disabled, 59-year-old homeless man who was living on the sidewalk downtown Santa Cruz, California. He is very nice, genuine, respectful and polite. He explains he doesn't want to live in the homeless [tent] camps because he doesn't do drugs and doesn't want to be around them. He also has COPD and congestive heart failure therefore is very concerned about contracting COVID-19. This structure will help protect him as cases surge, keep him warm, dry and safe through the winter months. It will also provide him with privacy, dignity and the security he deserves.

UNIT #2. was for an injured man, 44-years-old who  was involved in a major car accident a month ago. He accidentally drove off a 150ft cliff in Bonny Doon and taken to Stanford Hospital for a month, in the ICU for two weeks; 3 brain surgeries, broke multiple ribs, fractured spine, twisted his ankles, all of his teeth were pulled etc. He was discharged 6 days ago, currently wearing a neck brace and still has double vision.

We hope more people duplicate this project internationally and build these for a homeless people in their community! Please check out the Design Schematics website page! =) http://microtinyhome.com/design-schematics.html
