Elijah’s Emergency Back Surgery Fund

September 18th 2019 Elijah has experienced complications from her original surgery in April and now urgently needs a second emergency surgery tomorrow. Our family will travel from Humboldt to STANFORD, as we have changed surgeons and hospitals. There are two screws at bottom of the surgery holding down the rods in her back, that have been problematic since May 22nd, on sept 4 we reported a major mass on her back. UCSF brushed it off and didn’t think take action on it. So Now, it’s infected and it’s tainted the hardware - so our daughter has to basically go through the entire operation again TODAY. We are asking our community to help us in this time. PayPal is [email redacted] / Venmo is [email redacted] Yes that is an actual x ray  of our daughter’s spine.Our beloved  daughter Elijah is 13 years old, and has a 75% curvature of her spine (extreme scoliosis) see actual photo - that requires immediate emergency surgery. She had a physical in august last year as well as a spot check at school for scoliosis in October and it wasn’t detected.

There is an opening at UCSF pediatric hospital, that happens to be right after her school play in April. Though we trust that the insurance will cover the surgery costs and incidentals, we are now in a scramble to raise the funds necessary for our family to travel from Humboldt to SF, to cover an extra week to ten days of lodging w Elijah after surgery before being able to move her (room and lodging for our family who will be there to support our baby girl) in SanFrancisco during pre op, surgery and post op, and for Elijah to have a van ride home (or preferably a flight home if approved by doctor, so that she will be comfortable) And then there is the aftercare - she will need a medical bed, etc. as she will be on bedrest for 6 months after surgery, with one full year  of recovery and recuperation time. She will have a metal rod insterted and pins that help straighten her back. Anything you can give helps! We are also selling our bus but even if we get what we are asking for bus the specialized van cost 10-13k, and there is aftercare and medical bed, etc..
