Edipus Concert

Donation protected

Edipus is a Bay Area concert featuring all-male performers who stand against sexual violence and exploitation. Their platform to show compassion will be through the music. We're asking celebrities - local and beyond - to help us fight against the shame of rape (see our website for the official list).

Our Mission

To use music as an easy and effective way to show solidarity with survivors of rape. By asking only men to participate, we eliminate the notion that rape is just a woman's issue and begin to accept the fact that it is a societal one.

Help Us

We need to spread the word - plain and simple. It’s going to take a lot of volunteers, speaking engagements, leaflets, flyers, buttons and events to gain the momentum that is needed to put on this concert. We’re asking you to help us gain traction by donating to the beginning stages of this movement.

Our schedule for Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 consists of conferences and events (i.e., races, walks, etc) that pertain to the subject matter that we are addressing. These events require booth fees that will need to be covered. We also plan on soliciting volunteers to stand in front of sympathizing storefronts and permitted sidewalks to pass out information about our organization. (Volunteers are what makes the world go ‘round and we’d like to repay them by hydrating them.) Public service announcements (PSAs), radio and television interviews in and around the Bay Area all require transportation that needs to be fueled.

Because we are a grassroots organization our funding has come from us and us alone. Though we have been able to proudly invest our own monies in this movement, we recognize that in order for it to grow and be a success we’re going to need help from others. People like you.

We know that rape is not an easy subject matter to talk about. It’s ugly and grotesque but, sadly,  it’s the truth. And in order to erase the shame and guilt that accompanies most survivors in its aftermath we first must let them know that it’s ok to speak out about it. When they do the healing can start.

We thank you in advance for your donation and support. And please don’t forget to share this with a friend!

Much love,
Edipus Concert
