Ed Davitt for Seanad Eireann fund
1 739 € of 1 735 € goal
My name is Ed Davitt, and I'm a 35-year-old Irish emigrant, running for Seanad Éireann on a platform of time-limited voting rights for Irish citizens abroad, environmental protection and to bring a better understanding of European affairs into national politics in Ireland.
I am running for one of the three seats elected by the graduates of the University of Dublin (Trinity College), as it is the only election that allows Irish citizens abroad any say in the politics of their home country. Many have been forced to leave Ireland during the recession, and I want to do what I can to give them a voice and the same rights as those enjoyed in 120 other democracies - that is, some form of overseas vote for a limited period after they leave.
I believe I can bring a passionate, young and principled voice to the Seanad.
Why I need your help
I plan on running a modest campaign, but there are some costs. Here's what your donation would go towards:
- Design and production of 57,000+ leaflets to registered voters: €1000+
- Copy of electoral register: €87.30
- Travel for campaign
- Social media promotion budget: €350
You can see more about me and my platform on my Facebook, Twitter and at the Emigrant Manifesto page. You can see my full platform here .
Due to Standards in Public Office limitations, the maximum donation is €100 and is only open to Irish citizens, or people resident in Ireland. Thank you!
