Hello, My name is Beverly Jones-Durr and I am the Founder and Executive Director at Every Child Has a Story, a registerd 501c3 non-profit organization.
Children who have low communication skills are at-risk of living a life of struggle, continued poverty and increased likelihood of criminal behavior. These kids do not do well in school, and often become drop-outs. Low communication skills leads to low self esteem and depleted self confidence. It is a disempowering cycle of despair. No child deserves that.
However, when a child can face their peers and others, speaking in such a way that their message is clearly conveyed to the listener… something magical happens.
Children growing up with confidence in their own abilities tend to do better in school, take better care of themselves than their peers with low self-confidence levels, and excel in sports and socialization.
Children with healthy self-confidence are better able to withstand peer pressure and to make decisions with their own best interests in mind. Developing stellar communication skills makes all this possible.
Imagine a future where children display rocket high confidence and self esteem. A future filled with increased abilities and successes, one that creates a balanced and more leveled playing field. Imagine a future like this for every child! This is our vision. Because of the work we do at Every Child Has a Story …this VISION is absolutely possible.
Our programs include Speech Crafters Speech and Debate Club and The Writer's Vibe. Speech Crafters Speech and Debate Club helps children learn to command their thoughts, transform them into words and present speeches on a variety of subjects in front of an audience.
The Writer's Vibe teaches children to author their own books, publishing their work on platforms like Amazon. These young authors will also learn the magazine publishing world as they will create and manage a digital magazine.
Who do we serve? We serve children and young adults age 8 and up!
98% of all funds received support our current programs and the development of new programs. More importantly, your generous donations enable us to offer ALL programs at no cost to the children we serve.
